How are pivot points calculated?
Classic floor pivots use the previous trading day's high (H), low (L) and close (C). The pivot P = (H + L + C) / 3. First resistance R1 = 2P − L and first support S1 = 2P − H. Second resistance R2 = P + (H − L) and second support S2 = P − (H − L).
When do the XAUUSD pivot levels update?
Once a day, at the 5 pm New York rollover that starts each forex trading day. The levels then hold for the whole session.
What do traders use pivot levels for?
